Pinus Taeda in Uruguay.
Forestry activity in the country has grown steadily in the last 25 years, a period in which the planted area has multiplied by 30 times, most of them being certified forests.
Uruguay has 4 million hectares of forest priority. Currently, it has approximately 1.1 million hectares planted, which represents 25% of the total forestry priority land, so it still has a large availability of optimal land.
The activities that make up the forestry sector can be divided into three sectors:
Primary phase: includes the production of nursery seedlings and reproductive material, the installation of forests, their silvicultural treatments and harvesting.
Secondary phase: known as the industrial phase, which involves all the wood transformations that can be carried out in different production chains (cellulosic, solid transformation, chemical or energy generation) and which also includes marketing.
The transportation, logistics and associated professional services phase.
Within these phases is the afforestation of Pinus taeda, the wood we use in Arboreal for the production of Mass Timber in our country.
